Allows users to bypass regional restrictions and censorship online.
This free Firefox extension, Hola Unblocker for Firefox", is a free utility which allows Firefox to connect to other peers located across the planet, effectively masking your true IP address and allowing for access to region-restricted web sites like Hulu or Netflix.
Hola Unblocker for Firefox can be configured to automatically mask your IP address to a specific country, depending on the web site you visit. For example, access Hulu.com can be configured to automatically connect to a US-based peer. Likewise, CBC content in Canada can automatically be set up to connect to a Canadian peer also using Hola Unblocker.
Depending on the peer you have connected to, speed on viewing things like video or other rich media may vary. In our tests, accessing UK-based content on BBC iPlayer was fast while accessing Canadian content on CBC.ca was rather slow.
All in all, Hola Unblocker for Firefox is an excellent free solution to basically "share" yours and others' IP address to access content in each others' different countries but may not be all that reliable in terms of availability and speed.
